Merley Community Association is based at Merley Community Centre, Harrier Drive Merley and serves the local community of some 2,000 homes. A free news letter, ’The Merley Magpie’ is distributed 3 times a year.
The officers of the MCA council are:
Chair - Martin Stevens; Vice Chair - Pauline Way;
Secretary - Peter Spedding , Treasurer - Martin Bodimeade.
The Community Centre consists of large Val Jones Hall, small hall, kitchen, lounge and licensed bar area. There is a pre-school playground, a petanque court, barbecue site , grassy area and ample car parking.

Merley Social Club runs the bar and organises regular events. Membership is available on individual or joint basis and there are discounts for Seniors.
The Community Centre is widely used and groups as diverse as Pre-School and University of the 3rd Age (U3A) have regular bookings. The halls are available for hire at reasonable rates.
